iPod Video Review

The new iPod video, which conveniently fits into a shirt pocket, has some surprising new options. Apart from the usual options of the standard Apple iPod: music player, photo viewer, and voice recorder – the new iPod video goes above and beyond the original iPod.
First and foremost, the iPod Video is a video playback device.
It plays music videos and even TV shows such as ABC hits like “Lost” and “Desperate Housewives”. Even Pixar shorts and popular Disney shows are available for the new iPod video. The iPod Video is built on a thinner version of the original iPod and a screen resolution of 320×240 pixels puts it in the upper class of handheld video devices.
The iPod video has solid audio quality with no static or clipping when the volume is fully cranked. You may also connect it to your home or car stereo without worrying about the sound quality degrading. The large color screen of the iPod Video allows you to see images even in bright indoor light or outside in direct sunlight. The battery life is rated for either 14 hours or 20 hours depending on the model chosen.
You can also connect the iPod Video directly to a TV. This requires an external A/V cable. You then select the movie, show, or music video on your iPod that you want to watch. You can control the volume level directly from the iPod.
Another iPod video option is the ability to display still photos on your TV set using the external AV cable. The photo clarity is remarkably clear and displays a bit brighter than on other video displays such as computer monitors.
